We'd like to thank One Love for their generous donation. 10% of their Easter Appeal from earlier this year was generously given to us so that we can support the children of Ukraine via Welcome to UK.
Thank you to Aline Clayson, chair of the charity, for receiving the funds that will help those in need of support
The demand for our ESOL classes is still rising and we are responding to this demand accordingly. We are happy to announce that there will be a new Intermediate class on Thursdays - starting in October - for those studying for the IELTS. This class will have use of the crèche provided by A Better Start Southend, to enable young mums to take part. Our qualified ESOL teachers are busier than ever and we thank them wholeheartedly for their hard- work and dedication.
NEW SPACE
Thanks to Southend City Council, we have been able to acquire a new space adjacent to our current two hubs. This space is being used for local providers to come and support refugees and other migrants, as well as an additional ESOL classroom.
