Drop-in Session for Ukrainians

We host an informal drop-in session for Ukrainians in Southend. Run by Southend City Council, Welcome to the UK and other local organisations, guests can meet people in a similar situation, get help, support and advice on anything from English classes, jobs, housing, schools and much more. We also have donations including toys and clothes. No need to book, just pop by!

When: Every Tuesday, 10am – 12noon | Where: Welcome to the UK

Covid-19 Vaccine for 5-12 Year Olds

Come and listen to the experts from the NHS to find out more about the Covid-19 vaccination for your children. Book your place here.

Beach Clean

Give back to your community and earn experience as a volunteer at our litter picking beach clean. Help make Southend sparkle! Click here to book your place. 

When: Saturday 14th May 10 – 11.30am (if the weather is bad we will do it on Saturday 21st May). Where: the area of the beach surrounding the pier and arcades.

BLAST Youth Theatre Drama Club

Every Monday in term time, the team at Elevator Arts run a drama club for 8 to 12 year olds. The children can express themselves, be creative, build confidence and most of all, have fun! This club is completely FREE.

Lady McAdden Breast Health Workshop

Lady McAdden are a local charity helping to educate women on the importance of breast health. They will be at our hub to talk to you about the importance of breast screening and how to access the right services if you need them.

When: Thursday 7th July – 1-2pm | Where: Welcome to the UK

Friendship Group 

Every Friday from 1-2.30pm during term time at our hub you are welcome to come along, make new friends and relax with a tea or coffee. 

Free Playschool/Nursery

When you come to our friendship group, you can also bring your children with you. They will be looked after by qualified staff and can play and explore all the lovely toys and books we have. 

Albanian Language Project 

Every Saturday from 9.30-11am at our hub we run a class for Albanian children aged between 7-11 years old. This class helps to preserve their native language as a valuable heritage and in addition to learning the Albanian language, they will find out more about Albanian traditions, culture, customs and history.
