🌟 From zero English to a Doctorate. Monica’s journey is extraordinary. 🌟

After a very busy week across all three of our hubs in Southend , Grays and Basildon, we’re privileged to share this three minute video with you😍

Today we’re sharing the story of one of our incredible teachers, Dr Monica Mascarenhas. She arrived in the UK from Brazil with no English at all. Step by step, she learned the language, completed university, earned two Master’s degrees, achieved a Doctorate, and built a new life with courage and determination.

Her journey humbles us. It reminds us why Welcome to the UK exists.

Monica didn’t simply change her own life. She now teaches hundreds of our learners every year, supporting people who stand exactly where she once stood. She is one of many powerful case studies that show the strength, talent and resilience within our migrant and refugee communities.

At a time when the public conversation can feel heavy or divided, stories like Monica’s bring light. They show that people with English as a second language bring skills, dedication and heart to this country every single day.
