INTERNATIONAL WOMEN'S DAY 2023

On the 8th of March, we had the pleasure of celebrating International Women's Day at the

Park Inn hotel in Southend with over 140

people.

Guest speakers included local councillor Maxine Sadza, the Southend Citizen's Advice CEO, Rizwana Awan, and University of Essex lecturer Dr Kholoud Mohsen. Attendees also heard inspiring accounts from Southend City council's Louisa Thomas and Aizhana - a Russian political refugee. These amazing women inspired us by sharing their stories about the challenges they overcame. We were honoured to have the High Sheriff of Essex and The Worshipful, the Mayor and Mayoress of Southend-on-Sea in attendance, showing their support for all women, regardless of ethnicity, nationality or faith.
