Our Visit to Project Southchurch's Community Meeting

Last week, we attended Project Southchurch’s Community Meeting held at Belle Vue Baptist Church. It was an informative and positive evening. It was also great to see the local community and business owners at the meeting.

We heard exciting updates from Project Southchurch, including the launch of 3 new initiatives and the recommitment to ongoing projects for 2025.

Helen McGhee Shine from Surfers Against Sewage inspired us with her presentation on protecting our coastline. Kamil Pachalko from Southend-on-Sea City Council gave a final push for the City Vision, highlighting the bright future we’re building together.

Updates from Essex Police by our Chief Inspector, David Browning (Southend District) and our local councillors (representing the Southchurch ward plus East of Kursaal, South of St Luke’s, and West of Thorpe, ensured we’re informed about key issues in our community. MP David Burton-Sampson was also in attendance.

We also had a great Q&A session to hear our thoughts and answer questions posed by the community . It’s always a pleasure to see our community so engaged and invested in making Southend a better place for all.
