Our Job Club ran for four months, offering personalised support to people in Southend seeking employment, particularly those new to the UK job market. We were proud to support around 30 of our members, including at least 6 parents with children under the age of 4, helping them to improve their CVs, write strong cover letters, and access volunteering opportunities.
We also signposted participants to ESOL classes where needed, making sure language wasn’t a barrier to finding meaningful work.
The feedback we received was truly inspiring:
Godfrey shared:
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to attend the Job Club. I found it extremely helpful and informative. I learnt new techniques for writing and structuring a cover letter. This club has been a great source of knowledge in many ways. Most importantly, it’s a place where you can meet new people and make friends.”
Ahmad added:
“I met Mrs Marta and I really appreciate your support and help. It was one of the best and friendliest meetings I have experienced since I have been in Southend.”
We’re incredibly proud of the impact the Job Club had, not just in developing skills, but in building confidence and community.
